Yoa Sorek participated in a study tour this Spring in Korea on Child Maltreatment in Korea and Israel from a comparative perspective, led by Prof. Asher Ben-Arieh of the Hebrew University and the Haruv Institute. The tour focused on policies and services, and included lectures and site visits. The Korean delegation made a reciprocal visit to Israel in June.
Yoa shared findings from the accumulative research of the Institute in discussions on residential care, foster care, and adoption in Israel. Both delegations shared a common emphasis on the rehabilitation of biological families in the efforts to provide these children permanent homes within the community.
