The Harry Weinrebe Fund for the Advancement of Children at the Institute
The Dorset Foundation recently established the Harry Weinrebe Fund for the Advancement of Children, in memory of the late Harry Weinrebe. The Fund supports research projects and national seminars on major issues affecting Israeli children and youth.
The first project supported by the Fund is the first National Study on Immigrant Youth. This study provides the first in depth and comprehensive view of immigrant youth, focusing on their integration into Israeli society in areas such as education, social integration, relationships with parents, and risk behaviors. A national conference was held in January of 2010 to present the interim findings of the study.
Over 100 professionals and researchers explored the findings of MJB’s national study and discussed the successes and remaining challenges
A pathbreaking national study of Israel’s second-generation immigrant youth, conducted by the Institute's Engelberg Center for Children and Youth with the support of the Harry Weinrebe Fund for the Advancement of Children, provides first data comparing first- and second-generation immigrant youth
