The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is the major international economic policy forum for developed countries. Israel has had a long-term interest in being accepted for membership in this forum and this goal has now been realized. The OECD regularly publishes detailed economic and social data for all its members as well as in-depth country and comparative policy analyses.
In the extended admissions process, a comprehensive report was prepared by the OECD on Israel economy and society, the most in-depth analysis ever undertaken. As part of the process, the Institute, as an expert body, was asked to prepare two major independent background papers. The first was on the integration of immigrants into Israeli society and the second was on the integration of Israeli Arabs into Israeli economy and society.
