Experienced Researcher for Arab Population Team
The Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute (MJB) is Israel’s leading center for applied social research.
The Arab Population Team is a new unit at MJB that deals with a variety of topics, such as the government's activity in its programs to advance Israel’s Arab Population and to integrate it into higher education.
Planning research including developing research tools
Quantitative data processing and analysis (use of tools such as SPSS, STATA)
Extraction of preliminary conclusions from collected data. Ability to “tell the story” of the study
Writing a research report or parts of a report, and other documents as needed
Presentation of study findings to policymakers and the public
Management of contacts with various parties to collect data, conduct interviews and manage the study
Management and motivation of junior researchers throughout the various research stages
Monitoring of utilization of the research budget and meeting the study’s timelines
Responsibility for conducting several studies simultaneously
The work includes interface with other researchers at the institute and with external parties such as government ministries
PhD in social sciences (or pursuing a PhD)
Experience in social research (at least two years) apart from university studies
Experience in applied research - an advantage
Background in quantitative research methods and ability to conduct statistical analyses
Background in qualitative research methods (desirable)
Proficiency in Office programs (with emphasis on Excel)
High-level written Hebrew
High level of English
Excellent people skills: a team player with the ability to work with people from various organizations and with clients
Ability to work independently
Arabic speaker - an advantage
Willingness to work full-time. Place of work – Jerusalem. There is some flexibility regarding presence in Jerusalem. during the entire week.
