Research Associate, Employment Team, Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute

Daria Haiby-Gomelsky is a Research Associate, on the Employment Team at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute – Israel’s leading center for applied social research.
She joined the Institute in 2025. Her main areas of research include processes of social stratification and inequality, public policy, the labor market, and the education system as key factors shaping opportunity gaps among population groups.

In addition to her focus on social and economic stratification, Daria specializes in studying the impact of social investment policies among-work poverty and broader societal outcomes. She has extensive experience in quantitative and comparative analysis of social policy and social mobility processes. Her research emphasizes understanding the relationships between public policy, social structures, and patterns of inequality and opportunity.

Daria holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology, and political science and a master’s degree in organizational sociology, both from the University of Haifa. She is currently pursuing a PhD in sociology at the University of Haifa.
