The first years of life are the most formative and critical for child development, shaping physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities. According to the professional literature, quality investment in early childhood contributes to reducing social disparities.
In 2023 and 2024, a national survey was conducted among local and regional authorities to examine the characteristics of the role of early childhood coordinators (from birth to three), the types of early childhood education and treatment settings in the authorities, the training provided to staff, and the range of programs and services for infants, toddlers, and their parents.
The findings of the survey provide a foundation for local and national planning and policy development and JDC-Ashalim asked the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute to develop a BI interface for presenting the mapping results. The interface was developed as part of a partnership between the Early Childhood Division at the Ministry of Education, JDC-Ashalim, and Yad Hanadiv, to support the transition of daycare centers to the Ministry of Education.
Objectives
- To create a practical tool for extracting information from the survey, including the ability to compare services for infants and toddlers across groups of municipalities with similar background characteristics.
- To enable quick and flexible responses to a wide range of evolving policy questions, to support data-driven policymaking.
The report enables the breakdown of survey indicators by municipality, geographic region, sector, participation in the 360° National Program for Children and Youth at Risk, socioeconomic cluster, and municipal status. It is intended to serve as the infrastructure for presenting the survey results in the coming years.
Please note: The interactive report is in a pilot phase and is based on data submitted by early childhood coordinators in the municipalities. There may be inaccuracies or errors in the data.
