This document presents two BI-based interactive reports developed to make findings from large-scale studies on the lives of older adults in Israeli local authorities accessible, and to create an applied data infrastructure supporting policy design and decision-making at the local level. Both reports are based on comprehensive data sources and allow end users to explore the data, compare municipalities, examine key indicators across multiple life domains, and segment findings by diverse background characteristics.
- Older Adults During the Israel Hamas War – An Interactive Report
This report is based on a survey conducted among adults aged 60+ in 13 selected local authorities, in two waves: the first between December 2023 and February 2024, and the second between May and September 2024. The survey focused on examining the impact of the war on older adults’ lives. The report presents indicators of optimal aging across seven key domains: health and functioning; economic and employment status; emotional and social well-being; healthy lifestyle; active lifestyle; digital literacy; and support networks and trust. The system enables rapid and focused data retrieval, cross-municipal comparisons, and segmentation by background characteristics such as age, gender, level of religiosity, marital status, education, income, and disability.
- Muni100 – An Interactive Report
This report presents findings from a large-scale survey conducted among 12,360 adults aged 65+ in 18 selected local and regional authorities. The survey was conducted as part of the Muni100 initiative, a multi-dimensional program led by government ministries, the National Insurance Institute, JDC-Eshel, and local authorities. The initiative aims to strengthen the presence of older adults in the public space by improving access to information and enhancing physical, social, and economic accessibility. The report serves as an applied tool for generating insights from the data and provides a data infrastructure for local policy development. It enables comparisons across municipalities, neighborhoods, and population groups within the same authority, including a focus on key outcome variables such as mobility, walking, and participation.
Together, the two reports provide an interactive, user-friendly, data-driven platform that enables professionals, decision-makers, and local authority partners to identify needs, detect gaps, compare trends, and base service planning and interventions on reliable and detailed information. As such, they serve as an important tool for advancing the quality of life of older adults in Israel and for strengthening the capacity of local authorities to act in an adapted, informed, and evidence-based manner.
