Since its establishment in 1974, the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute (MJB) has been a loyal partner of the Israeli government. The Institute identifies and examines key social challenges to help improve decisions that impact the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities and strengthen Israeli society.

The Black Saturday of 7 October 2023 saw an unprecedented terrorist assault that exacerbated existing social challenges and posed new ones for Israeli society.
