The Research Program on the Arab population in Israel

The Institute extensively addresses the needs of the Arab population in Israel in all its areas of research. This is designed to help ensure that the needs and sensitivities of Arab-Israelis are integrated into the policy-making and program development process.

The Institute makes a special effort to include Arab-Israelis as a special population within the national studies carried out by all of its research divisions.  The Institute makes a special effort to ensure that the instruments used are culturally appropriate and that the interviews are carried out in the appropriate language.  Moreover, attention is given to subgroups within the Arab-Israeli population, such as the Druze and the Bedouin.  Doing so provides critical comparative data on the well-being of Arab-Israelis, which is central to program and policy development. The Institute also initiates special studies focusing on Arab-Israelis.
